Group Sewerage Scheme Funding To Benefit 33 Households In West Clare

Press Release Summary: 9th April 08 – The Government has allocated CLÁR top-up funding of €256,825 to the Mountrivers Group Sewerage Scheme (ED Doonbeg) near Doonbeg.
Press Release Body: Minister of State and Clare T.D. Mr. Tony Killeen welcomed the allocation and described it as an important contributory factor to the revitalisation of the rural West Clare townland.
He explained, “The allocation of funding for the improvement of vital infrastructure such as sewerage services enables individual housing developments to proceed. In this case, thirty three households will benefit from the scheme improvements with savings of €7,784 per household.”
“The allocation of €256,825 will enable a total value of works amounting to €356,868 to be carried out. The remaining amount will be paid by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and by private contribution from the Group members”, explained Minister Killeen.
The funding announcement was made by Mr. Éamon Ó Cuív, T.D., Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
